Hi all,
just found on youtube some clips with stage hypnosis performances from Anthon Galie (I did not know him before watching these clips). Many videos are to be seen on his youtube account, showing always the same kind of things. Inductions of the subjects and his usual routines. It is interesting still to see the same routines with different audiences to see how he manages the subjects, what he does when things do not go exactly as planned, and so on. Plus, I find the routines quite funny. Negative hallucinations, sleep gun induction (I love this one!), a person who is suggested to be thirsty but who is also suggested to forget where his mouth is....Worth watching I think here's a link to start with: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VMdQ2pB7RI4 Enjoy, and have a nice day M. |

I purchased his book, the one he recommends during his talks. It was beyond a shadow of a doubt the least well written and informative of any I've ever purchased. So poor is was barely legal!
And yet here is the strangest of paradoxes. To be perfectly honest, I don't rate anyone higher than Galie in actual presentation. I think, in front of a corporate crowd he comes across as the most confident layed back of all hypnotists I've seen. Pure class. bobser

I love how Anthony Galie presents his hypnosis gags - the same ones most stage hypnotists use - as metaphors for his business and motivational lectures. He's not just presenting an entertainment, he's using it as a corporate talk which likely brings him higher fees than a straight show would. He's very smooth and well worth watching for those unfamiliar with his stage work.
All the best, Brian

Bobser, just because someone is an excellent performer does not mean he or she can translate that into effective writing. That's why when so many popular personalities "write" a book, you see their name in big letters followed by "with John Jones" (the real writer) in smaller type.
Conversely, I've also seen people who can talk a good story much better than they can perform. I saw one instructor share what seemed to me a great technique for getting good subjects on stage, but when he demonstrated it the technique was a total flop. In fact, I've seen him attempt the technique several times and not once has it been very successful. I viewed a large video training from a hypnotist in Canada, and his information and presentation seemed very good. The last video, however, was a recording of one of his performances, and he was horrible. It goes both ways. |
