This is a nice idea for a car teleportation. Is this a 'standard' illuison for sale?

From the looks of the performance it was a staged video feed and then a basic appearance was used some kind of variation on http://gerryfrenette.tripod.com/newindex.htm it runs about $6,550 canadian, there are variations as I said available.

JC published the vanish and production of a car on the blocks in one of his books. Gerry didn't give us a timeline for his "creation" but JC's book has been out for a while. Maybe they worked together, I don't know.
It's hard to tell in Gerry's effect as the curtains are all black but the "speed" of his vanish looks like a variation of my Motorcycle Vanish I created for our Canadian Tour back in the early 90's. I do remember playing Missasauga but it could also just be a coincendence. JC is a great promoter and has a gift for making a lot out of a little. He's got some very clever ideas and is definately one to watch.

This was a great idea in the way the illusion was presented. Ray, you are right to say that he has a knack of creating big events out of his illusions and shows.
I'm quite sure this is J C's rework on Gerry Frenette's car vanish illusion, which he owns then modified. He stated it in his book. He details two car appearances, not vanishes, but they are different from what he used in this show. |

Thanks Ray & euroillusion,
To clarify, the appearance part of "Destination X" is my design, restaging and rebuilding (in parts) of Gerry Frenette's system which I purchased. I had previously developed a car appearance that was very similar in method to Gerry's so did the right thing and bought his system first and then modified it. The version I do is not for sale. Gerry's system is primarily used as a vanish, which I used before with some restaging. The car appearances in my book/ plan are completely different in method and presentation. I never shared the above method as the basic method is what Gerry sells. J C

Thanks JC,
I'll look into it as Gerry's method seemed similar to my Motorcycle Vanish/Appearence which I've only released to Tihany. It could be a different method, I'll have to do some digging. Take care!

Hi Ray,
My guess it is similar but not identical from what I have seen. As mentioned, Gerry's is primarily a vanish and cannot be used IMO an an appearance 'out of the box'. He has one element which is very smart that makes the illusion and that I have not seen in any other vanish of this nature/ method. The actual stage set-up, I suspect, is also quite different. Best, J C

Very impressive, JC!
Do not go where the path may lead, but go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.
