I am also a Viet Nam Veteran (1968 to 1969). Only those who have been in a combat zone know what it is like. I also wish you a safe return.

WOW....Thanks guys! Thank you Sam! And thank you Al and Charlie very much for your service as well. You both served in much tougher times than I. This is my second deployment...my first was to Afghanistan. Here is an interesting article of magic in a combat zone if you are interested....probably not the right place to post it though. http://www.katu.com/news/55500082.html

Safe return w_s_anderson!
I am a bit skeptical of the Masters Magicians Guild, but I do hope it turns into something positive for magicians. |

One of the biggest reasons I signed up with this program is all the positive comments from people on the Café who I have grown to trust. They speak very highly of the person who is putting this all together, so those kind of referrals helped me make my decision. So far I have not received anything from them, but it takes a while to get up and going I'm sure. The concept excites me though. |

Well let's just sit back and let the MMG do its thing. Soon we will know if they are an incredible agency hybrid or not. I am on gigmasters and have a Google Adwords campaign running. If I can't beat em, then I will join them...with their open enrollment and high pricing you know there will be a large turnover rate and plenty of sudden "openings"

We are all in the same business fellows. I personally think that it will not be as profitable due to the fact that only magic as an entertainment form is involved - not every planner is stuck on using magic.
The competition is HUGE. Just my 2 cents to make this site a real "pre-eminent" choice on the net you'd be needing to spend millions, literally. bond |

Email received this afternoon:
"Charlie, First I want to thank you for your support and encouragment during this project. I've spoken with many of you and have had the privledge of meeting with some incredibly talented magicians. Unfortunatly the Master Magicians Guild is going into an indefinite hiatus. There is a lot more work to do and investment that needs to be made and we've reached the limit of our resources. Because we never got out of the 'ramp-up' phase, nobody's credit card has been charged and your financial data has been wiped from our merchant's database. The concept will eventually be reinvented in some form or another and as and when that happens I will let you know. Thank you again for being part of this attempt to transform the magic industry. Best Wishes, Michael Carducci and the MMG team" >>>>>I have to say that I am really bummed that this never got to take off. I was really getting excited. Well, back to the old proven marketing methods. Charlie :-( |

I was concerned that it might have been a bit too ambitious an undertaking...
At least it sounds like no one who registered is out any money on the deal. That's a whole lot more than can be said of many "entry level opportunities" of this type.

And I did finally receive the e-mail, in the wee hours of this morning. *jeep! --Grandpa

I'd bet that the true cost in time, man power, internet expertize, and money was just more than expected. Those of you who have tried to start up a business know what I'm talking about. Even if they're successful, most people would have to admit that it was a bit more work/money than first envisioned.
