Tenyo is releasing 5 new tricks for 2010. Magico-Japan (an E-bay seller) has the Japanese versions for sale ('pre'-sale).
I don't know the final English names for the tricks but here is a brief description that I got (and sleightly adjusted) from Magico-Japan: MILIONAIRE DREAM Coins appear from a bill. At the end of the trick the bill becomes 2 bills. The bill(s) are gimmicked if I understand correctly, so I don't think it can be handed out for examination ... . SHRINKING PEN A pen is placed on the magicians hand and a handkerchief is placed over it. A spectator pushes on the pen and it shrinks. After the handkerchief is removed there is a small pen. I don't know if this can be examined ... . ILLUSION TRUCK A truck is shown empty. A figure of a lion is placed in a handkerchief and disappears (I guess some kind of 'Devil's handkerchief' is used?). When the truck is moved forward the lion reappears. I think this truck is a typical Tenyo-'toy' I guess the handkerchief and the truck cannot be examined ... . CHINA SURPRISE (this trick is not new in Japan) A piece of tissue paper and a litle green ball is placed in the magicians fist. A sort of DIM-SUM, named 'Shaomai' (a sort of steamed dough/paste with some kind of filling, that's the best way I can discribe it with my relative poor knowledge of english) with a pea on top of it appears. It seems very obvious to me how this trick works ... . A demo can be found here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dwp74pq8PJ4 Of course nothing (besides the tissue and green ball) can be examined I suppose. FLOATING CARD This trick is invented by Angelo Carbone (who also invented Mini-morphosis and Prison-box for Tenyo). This guy is a super magic-inventor, I also have Out of order from him, super trick!). The name sais it all, a card that is freely selected (I guess?) is placed on top of a deck of cards and starts floating. The card beneath the floating card can be removed and waved beneath the floating card to prove nothing is under de floating card. I have absolutely no idea how this works and am looking forward to it! A demo of a trick that resembles can be found here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6k0BQHNXX7c I think this cannot be examined. As a Tenyo collector I am not very impressed with the descriptions of the 4 tricks Tenyo invented (the trick by Angelo Carbone seems great, however I hope there is no difficult sleight of hand required to perform it ...)), but perhaps (I hope) I will change my opinion when I see the tricks David - Belgium |

Yes you can examin the deck once you palm off/ditch the gimmick which is only 2 cards thick.

Hello Angelo, nice to know that you are 'active' on this forum (sorry, I'm new, I, didn't knew that)
I would appreciate it very much if you could answer a few questions for me - Can you wave the card beneath (I suppose the gimmick (or part of it))? as in the video I 'linked' to in the first post? - Is this effect, from Tenyo, with bicycle cards? - I have quite a few (understatement ) Tenyo items (and stories to it, how I got them etc) and I have registered the website Tenyo.be ('be' is for Belgium , by the way it costs me 6 EURO a month grrrr ...) ) to make a site dedicated to Tenyo, however I am also willing working with you on your site (Tenyo World), it really needs some 'updating' I would prefer updating your site than creating my own, that way we have a EUROPEAN updated site Please let me know if you are interested Perhaps there are other people interested? |

Congrats Angelo. It's one of the most amazing floating cards I've ever seen.

Thanks Tomacker.
Killertweety: Yes you can wave a card under most of the floating card. The trick comes with a blue back regular bicycle deck.

A lot of the older tenyo stuff was great! These past years have been so-so. I will hopefully be getting the 2010 line this weekend, so will let you know how they all are...especailly the Floating Card which looks amazing!
