I usually don't use a close up mat for anything. I prefer to perform magic stand up without the aid of a table. However, while visiting L.A. last week, I came across the most beautiful close up mat I've ever seen in my life. It's Tony Clark's Victorian style Close-Up Mat. I showed the mat last night to John Carney, Aaron Delong and David Williamson and they all thought it was an extremely elegant pad. A bit on the expensive side for a close up mat, but each are hand crafted and autographed by Tony himself. If you haven't already, look into purchasing a Victorian Close-up Mat. He makes them in both red and black, and they come with or without the brass corners.

Nothing to mess up guys. this pad is just as durable as any other close up pad you've ever owned. As long as you don't knock over a $23 cup of Starbucks onto the mat, you'll be fine.

I picked up one of the Dan and Dave pads when they launched. It shipped quickly, and is absolutely beautiful! I'm not normally a big fan of patterned material on close up pads, but this one is really well made and great looking.
