Witches Do Burn from Maleficium. You can actually check out the effect in the free PDF preview.
http://www.leapinglizardsmagic.com/csspa......cium.htm Why? I am a little biased since it is my effect. But also because the magic is simple, but it plays big. Witches, torches, fire, magic and pretty women. Pretty good combinations, eh? |

Wow, Paul thanks for the quick response. For some reason this year, I feel like scaring the bejeebers out of someone. I will look this up! A potential sure sale question- will I need to provide the pretty women, or do they just start wandering in??

Jim-
I guess it just depends on how charming you are, or how creepy, if that's the kind of women you are after. I acknowledge that not everyone has the space to present this. I did this last year at my Halloween party/bonfire/hayride and will probably repeat it this year. It went over well. Even if you can't do it, it's tough to beat the price you pay to read the effect, right! |

FROM HELL (the stage version) which is in my Memories, Mayhem & Mephistopheles ebook.
As I've performed this, I witnessed nervous giggling from the participants & fear of sticking their hand into a paper bag which only contains photos of Jack the Ripper's victims. BUT, I did read Paul's WITCHES DO BURN from Maleficium & must say that it is extremely cool. So cool that it spurred me on to buy his book (although I probably won't get the opportunity to perform it because of the 'outside element'.) Marqus |

Witches Do Burn is very impressive. It is not one of those things you can just run out and perform. I would love to do it!

Hellcorn is on the top of my list to construct.
As far as my favorite Halloween effect...A demonically themed PK touch routine following Baba's Voice of the Crucifix with my own twisted scripting. Why? Because VoC is creepy, shocking and provocative. The Pk thing because when presented this way some audience members are looking around up in the air the rest of the presentation and are clearly creeped out but entertained nonetheless. >) |

Peter Marucci had a great one called "The Witch of Glastonbury." It uses three tarot cards.
Why? It is pretty easy to do and a terrific routine. I perform it regularly. It used to be online somewhere, but I can't seem to find it anymore. If you can find it, it is a good Halloween routine. |

If for a show, Barbie's Scream House.
People can relate to the story, it is a blast to perform, it has laughs, surprise, and a shocking kicker ending. But if I want pure shock, dropped jaws and stunned silence, The Chill. There is something else that causes screams, but it isn't right to mention it yet. Tony |

Tony,
Thanks for reminding me aboutyour BARBIE SCREAM HOUSE and THE CHILL (from the earlier Grymoire's). You're absolutely right about the Barbie effect and THE CHILL is very atmospheric which helps create the pure shock. |

Thanks, Guys, for some great ideas. Right now I am trying to find some of these. I really wish I had started this search earlier...

What in the world is "THE CHILL"? It sounds interesting. Can that effect be found in a book?
