I'm going to be in Portland from Saturday evening (the 10th of October) until Monday morning and was thinking it might be possible to throw down a couple of shows while I'm there. Maybe Saturday, if I get there early enough, or maybe Sunday afternoon, or something.
Can anybody here help with what might be a good place to try and work? Thanks! -Travis |

Oh, and I've been to Portland before, but don't know it all that well. I seem to recall there's some kind of a public squareish looking place across from Powell's, under some public art thing, but aside from that I don't have much memory of the public spaces in Portland.

I live in Portland and the consistent place for street performers is Saturday Market. It's open on Saturday and Sunday. The website is http://www.portlandsaturdaymarket.com. If you look at their website you'll see they have a schedule for the main stage. I've also seen performers in other areas. They've moved fairly recently and I'm not sure what areas are available in their new spot. Before, there was a list that you could sign up on to reserve one of the spots. It's probably worth calling the Saturday Market office and asking about it.

Oops, it wont work as a hyperlink because of the full stop at the end of the website address.
Try http://www.portlandsaturdaymarket.com/
The presentation makes the magic.

Thanks for fixing the link. My mistake for adding the period after I had pasted in the url.
