I wanted to see how my dealer procedures looked on camera. You can't see my shuffle procedure in the beginning, but it's a basic riffle, riffle, strip, riffle, cut. How's that look to the guys who are in poker croo? |

You could perhaps go a little faster with the shuffles, but it looks pretty sound.

Hard to see much at all from this camera angle. Try from right in front.
For sure you could improve your dealing speed by sailing the cards properly. You don't need to go so far out with your right hand, a flick of the wrist (or the fingers) is all it takes. |

It shouldn't take long to sail them faster, just keep working on it I guess. Is this just for private games or do you want to be a dealer in a casino or club?

As far as the pitching goes, imagine you are dealing with handcuffs on... or better yet... try dealing while wearing hand cuffs. This means your hands never separate farther than it takes for the top card to clear the deck. The card is sailed right there... from the top of the deck... just like pulling the trigger on a gun. The only real adjustment you make is a body turn as you are pitching to players from left to right and back again.
Perfection isn't necessary but you should strive to look professional. |

Again the camera angle does make it hard to get a good view. When riffling the hands should be flat on the deck, and the pitch should be with the fingers not with the arm.

No one has yet to tell me what "poker croo" is. Is that a misspelling or some kind of kiddie slang. Do I need to check out the urban dictionary or something?
