For years I have been using a plastic cheap egg from a magic set bought at wal mart. It's done it's job just fine, but I am looking to place an order for a new egg. I was looking into this
http://themagicwarehouse.com/cgi-bin/fin......TO%20EGG That is the viking egg....any recommendations? I have Bob Sanders and it was great until it hit the floor just one time and cracked to pieces....so my requirements are this 1. non breakable...because I let the volunteer handle the egg 2. reference avaliable to learn the routine properly With that in mind I was looking into Mark Wilsons egg/material, but its a little more expensive then I would like to invest at the moment This is the other find http://themagicwarehouse.com/cgi-bin/fin......TO%20EGG Out these three have any of you put them to use? Which would you recommend? Thanks Charles |

I hand the egg to the kids and let them perform the trick while I walk them through the steps with my egg....I then tell them to reach into their pocket for the magic dust and then do the big finale....end with the both of us taking a bow with a round of applause...therefore I can't use an egg that breaks easily...I do not doubt one bit that they are good eggs, but I need one that will last a long time without breakage.

The Viking egg is also breakable. IMO, the tensile strength of that egg and Bob's egg are pretty much the same.
As a point of information, the Tirofog egg is also breakable. If "absolutely unbreakable" is your primary need, you'll probably have to stick with a plastic egg. |

I will get a Bob Sanders egg or similar for when I do it solo, and then a plastic egg for the volunteer. This has been a memorable trick that I end most shows with. I am going to study all material over the next few years that is out on this subject. Any Recommendations? Become a Silk to Egg Expert...lol Charles |

I recall Whit Haydn saying that, until relatively recently, he used a plastic Tenyo egg. (He now uses a large Tirofog egg that he's lined with some thinned out Durham's Rock Hard Water Putty.) |

Charles,
You should be using your replacement egg by now. (It was sent back in January.) Thanks for going back to the Dovelite Silk to Egg. Bob Sanders Magic By Sander PS --- As a reminder for magicians that use eggs, this is the Easter season and there are plastic Easter eggs that make great containers for both the gimmicked eggs and the real eggs you take to the show. |
