Getting into the halloween spirit, SYFY (formally SCIFI) is airing the DUNWICH HORROR followed by WOLFSBAYNE (One werewolf hero, a Nazi vampire cult and world domination). This starts at 7:00 PM Eastern.

I was looking through my channels to find something to watch tonight and found out about this as well. I have not seen any commercials about it before, as I almost stopped watching SYFY after the name change, and all of the shows/movies they started airing where either very old and overplayed outright horrible with the slight exeption of Werehouse 13. this might be a turning point in my views of the chanel though, so heres to hoping the movies tonight are half-decent, good horror/suspence films are few and far-between these days.

Worst Lovecraft film adaptation to date.
And that's saying something... It was as if a bunch of idiot fanboys wrote the screenplay, and the producer responsible for the "Giant Snake" type of "Sy Fy Original Movies" edited it to suit his imbecilic sensibilities. Sad. Hopefully everyone here with an interest has seen the HPLHS silent black and white film version of "The Call of Cthulhu" which, at least tried to be evocative of, and true to, the original...

Not the worst, I've seen much worst (like The Tomb), but it was pretty bad. Sad really...
I am waiting for it and a few other goodies, should be this week... |

Gaddy:
I watched "The Call of Cthulhu" this weekend, a fantastic film! I rememeber a few years ago when I learned about it being made, I put myself on a wait list, but never heard back on it and forgot about it. Thank you for the memory jog. I just realized something interesting, Dean Stockwell, star of the poor SYFY film, DUNWICH HORROR, was in the original, 1970 film of the same name. Tony |
