Does anyone know if JC's new sub trunk desgin folds flat? The bottom and the lid looks like a flight case, so I was wondering if the whole thing folds flat into the case?

Wouldn't this be best answered by purchasing the plans... Also it's not that difficult to make something fold down. It's usually the breakdown hardware which is very interchangeable.

I am interested in puchasing the plans only if it folds. It is not always so easy to make something fold down, especialy with this type of sub trunk that needs to be strong in structure and hold some weight.
Again does anyone know if it folds down or not? |

I have the book but not the plans so do not know if they are exactly the same. The prop can breakdown if you want. But, there are not easy to break down components. It is all nuts & bolts.
J C explains that he designed it to pack fast. The base of the prop is actually the base of the ATA case. So, he has a cover that covers the plexi box and locks to the base to form the case. Very ingenious actually. But, he does mention that you can breakdown the plexi box into pieces and have a lid to cover everything to form a relatively flat case. But I suspect the set-up will take time. Best thing to do is to email him as Michael says. |
