In the October 1947 issue of The Wizard Magazine, there is a KILLER ring and rope effect. It is described using a hula-hoop and a jump rope, which would make it great for stage, but it can be done with a standard 5" ring and 5-6' length of rope. It is absurdly simple as there is virtually NO move, AND it can be done all in the spectator's hands! The ring is tied on to the rope with a bow knot. Each end of the rope is given to spectators to hold. A third spectator holds the ring. The rope is pulled tight and the knot disappears and the ring penetrates the rope. It is that direct and so simple it is a dream. Definately look this one up. The Wizard Magazine can be found on CD-ROM from Martin Breese. If you are a ring and rope guy like me, you will want this for sure!
