Just to keep this place talking about gambling, go there:
http://www.arnoldmcdonald.org/en/code/index.php?p=6210000 And check the "Push-Off Second Deal Drill #1". It's me explaining to someone (via MSN) a nice drill to practice SD: the alternated deal. Comments welcome. |

Wow excellent work .. thanks a lot
I don't know if it was the frame rate of the video or something to do with the particular technique but it seemed to me that the movement of the deck seemed to mask the movement of the thumb giving me the impression of a dead thumb ... am I seeing it correctly ? |

Thx.
No, the thumb is moving, watch in slow motion. I don't move it that much, that's true, but I deal top, second or bottom the same way: not moving the thumb too much. Say it's my dealing style . Thanks for your comment, the vid has been watched almost 100 times yet and you're the first to comment! 2 more drills to come. |

I have found that it helps to provide cover if I slightly tilt the deck up. its not a full neck tie but its just enough so that the line of sight of the onlookers looking down is aligned with the plane of the deck ... kind of the borderline between neck tie and normal position of the deck. |

Awimagic,
I've added a video called "Push-Off Second Deal Dead Thumb", just check it to see the difference. In fact the thumb is not 100% dead but, say, 95% . As you'll check, the illusion is very good even if the deck used (a Texan) isn't really perfect for SD... On the videos I put online, I do my best to offer the "best" angles. Best here, means, "bad", just because I want the guys to comment, to help me to improve. Then, I chose angles that allow to see the flaws. You will seldom see me tilting the deck! I hate that and it's a huge tip off. Sometimes I move the hand too much though. I'm working on it. Doc said once "da thumb must move". He's right. But it depends the style you use for dealing. For years, I've never moved my thumb that much for dealing, that's my style. I've never been caught for that. Same stuff for the brief size. Some say that the brief must be invisible. But, if you want, I can post vids with huge, very huge briefs, and you'll check that there's not much to see though... You must try to be perfect, average brief, moving thumb, no tilt at all, not big hand motion. But the truth is that it depends what you aim. Not everyone deals the same way. Then, if your style is not arousing suspicion, well, just keep it. IMHO, consistency is much more important thant the size of the brief or a perfect moving thumb. Honestly, do you find the vid with Texans horrible? Yet, the thumb doesn't move, the cards have a logo in the middle and my left hand moves too much... |

Hello AMcD
I saw all your works and it was BEAUTIFUL!!! This may seem stupid but can you show me Double duke or Triple duke? and if it is possible, I want to see cold double duke stacking which means without set-up. If I was asking too much, I apologize. but you seem to really advanced with stacking for me. Thank you |

Triple duke!?
Well, to help a partner is cool (1-Duke). Trapping someone while you help someone else is a bit tricky (2-Duke): it's a lot of work yet to help yourself or a mate. But it's OK, I've got a plenty of examples about 2-Duke. I'll see if I got time left tomorrow. But stacking for 3 guys at the same time is too much work and cold deck would be a better weapon IMHO. I don't practice cold stacking that much. It involves to spot indexes while shuffling and it's not really my philosophy . |

Well euro76, you can keep asking until you find someone to show you (not going to happen) or you can take the answer that was provided you in another thread. As you can see, everyone here thinks that your goal is either impossible or impractical and involves peeking a lot of cards. They don't know how any more than you do. I suggest you re-read my other posts answering your question. Stacking for three in holdem is no more work than stacking for two.

Doc uses the bump and I have seen Yiannis's deal with real tiny briefs so I assume they have real good reasons to keep it that way but for my purposes ( a bit of magic and a bit of show off ) briefs don't' matter too much but I m still struggling with the view of the deck from the top as well as the sound issue ... thanks again for posting videos ... |

Excellent. Very natural looking and everthing good.
If there is a single truth about Magic, it is that nothing on earth so efficiently evades it.
