I enjoy hand crafting my own wands from branches I find around mu neighborhood. When I say hand made, I use a dremel and sandpaper. I do NOT make them the perfectly straight, highly glossy type. I like the Natural, archaic look and feel to them..
However, I am now wanting to add a metal tip to them. Is there a way to create/add metal onto the wood, in a way that it isn't perfect. In other words, I don't want to buy a pre-made tip and then sand the stick to perfection for the tip to fit. I was thinking of something like solder but I don't belive that would stay on. It would create that "hand made" gloppy look though! It might work, but I haven't tried it though... I just might? Any ideas/suggestions is greatly appreciated. Mike |

Copper is easy to work with. You can get it in rolls at most hobby stores. Or you can guild the ends with gold or silver leaf.

Interesting. Why not a narrow ferrule near the end rather than a full tip??

Get that rubberized stuff in hardware store and dip the ends in. Or as I thought Tabman was going to say, put old bullet shell casings on the ends.

What about LAB-METAL? Its basically liquid metal, sort of epoxy filled with aluminum dust so it dries to metal basically. Just dip and let dry. That might suit the organic look and feel of your wands.
