Hello everyone. I am new to hypnosis. I have already had some very good subjects but I was wondering, is there any sort of progression you take with your hypnosis. Such as do some Catelpsy routine then follow with a few ideomotor movement type routines , going into Amnesia, so on so forth? Any advice would be great.

I think you could have all of your questions answered if you get two books:
1) New Encyclopedia of Stage Hypnotism by Ormand McGill and 2) The Ronning Guide to Modern Stage Hypnosis by Geoffrey Ronning. |

Ok, thank you. I have been looking a getting the ormand McGill book. I have got deeper and deeper, and reality is plastic and the Manchurian Approach dvds and all 3 are excellent.

There are milestones most hypnotists aim for and reach.
One way to think of it is in terms of phenomena. If you have achieved physical phenomena like catalepsy and mental phenomena like amnesia, it might be time to move into some routines involving their identity and hallucinations. Typically that is how I step through phenomena with a new subject anyway - physical (stuck or arm levitation), emotional (laughter/well being) then onto amnesia and from there anywhere. I am not suggesting it has to be done that way - I know it does not but ut us a reasonable way of progressing. Linking the height or the dissapearance of each phenomena to the next helps too. Identify strong moments in each that you can springboard off of. In terms of personal progression turning each phase of the process into a multi phased routine will improve your act. All the best Anthony

Thanks so much Anthony for the reply. I did some hypnosis town tonight on a friend. Everything was hitting home. He thought I was Cheryl cole, wantedto touch me but couldn't. Said he loved my song in the charts. I then did a halloween hallucination of elvis coming out of a quija board and having a full conversation with him. All hit home and was awesome to see. Cheers Ant for your reply and your sound products.
