The most important is not to know an effect but to be able to master it! So many performers learn a routine without talent! I am not worry about a such situation.

I have to confess for a college student like me, I've been roaming around youtube for free tutorials for awhile. However all of them were so poorly performed/or made that ACTUALLY got me going and interested in magic.I thought to myself, "I can do it way better", so I youtube'd the effects they were revealing so I can see the full effect performed by the pros. So then I started using those free magic sites, they were better quality compared to the 13 year olds on youtube trying to get views, however it just wasn't professional enough for me. So then I started knowing and learn from names such as Michael Ammar, David Roth, Shoot Ogawa, etc.
That's my 2cent on the topic, although I don't like the idea of exposing magic, I do believe that people with enough passion for magic will try to find free secrets like me in the beginning, and move on. Cheers. |

If you are learning the secret to perform then its fine but if you are learning it just to know it then its a horrible thing to do and you should be shamed upon. Also the price of magic is truly pricless, and in my opinion can be shared but not often and never to non magicians. -Teed |

The ones who look at a routine are not especially attracted in knowing the secret but they admire how the performer masters it!

What do you think about magic books in the library? Any one can read for free. Just stiring the pot.

I never call a trick by its name (e.g. Ambitious card) when I perform. This makes it a little harder for the spectator to try to find a tutorial on youtube.
