Speaking of Clive's "BOOKS OF BLOOD", I was always a big fan of "The Yattering and Jack".

As a long-time Barker fan, I was very dissappointed with the "Books of Blood" film.
A few years ago they were supposed to be doing a movie based on those torture doll things he helped design. I was really looking forward to it because I like "Hellraiser" and the little "Hellbound Heart" book so much, but apparently it never happened.

"yattering" is one of my fav short stories. I lost it for the movies based on his books when 'Hellraiser" ended up in space.....although the last 'straight to dvd' hellraiser was well done.

Let me just say in "Hellraiser in Space (Bloodlines)" defense that I did like the stuff in the past with the original toymaker.
Only the first two Hellraiser films had Barker's blessing though. The studio just ran with the characters in the others. One of the straight to dvd sequels wasn't even written as a Hellraiser movie, they just added Pinhead at the last minute.

I love the name of the Cenobite order in the Hellbound Heart, "The Order of the Gash." It sounds sexy and painful at the same time. Perfect dichotomy.

Clive Barker...Awesome Author...Weaveworld is one of his best titles (frankly I am partial to all of them)...I will admit that I enjoyed the movie...

I never got into Clive, but I always liked the subtitle to Books of Blood: We are all books of blood... because when we are opened... we are read (red)."

Does anybody else remember the short-lived but highly visual graphic novel project TAPPING THE VEIN? It had some of the most warped cover art in all of comicdom.
