Okay, I'm back in Houston but lots to do and places to go. I picked up some friends from the airport this morning, Don Wiberg, Past International President of the IBM, and his wife, Joyce, will be staying with us for a few days. We plan to drive to Austin tomorrow to see Esther's Follies starring Ray Anderson, unquestionably my favorite magician. And I'm not alone with this opinion. Magicians travel from all over the world to see this show. It's awesome. If Dodd had space available on his website, I would post an interview with Ray after the show.
But back on the MINDvention...indeed it was wonderful. And I am flattered that so many of you had enough interest to listen to my audio diary. It was fun and I hope to do it again with "behind the scenes" interviews, candid conversations, pub talk and personal comments from future conventions. As some of you might recall, I used to be the convention editor for MAGIC Magazine for many years so I have attended many, many conventions. I love these get togethers and I think I have a unique perspective from all angles having worn many hats: an organizer, an attendee, an emcee, a president, a performer, a dealer, a dealer chairman, and many other roles. I am flattered too that so many friends in our community let me talk so frankly with them and they in turn provide candid, real life responses. They are all wonderful for giving me their time. I thank them all and I thank all of you (both of you) for listening to my updates on the podcast. I hope to provide many more in the future. Keepin' it real, this is Scotty out.

Scott,
I just wanted to publicly express my appreciation for all of the hard work that went into delivering these interviews. You have certainly raised the bar for convention coverage of this kind. They were fantastic and I look forward to what you'll send us in the future from other gatherings. You rock! Dodd out! |
