I'm pretty sure that these are the ones Charlie Fry recommends on Eccentrics (2?) If it's good enough for Charlie, it's too good for me!

Here's why: Some of these still use the old 38 mm. balls. I got one of these a few years back, and it did not have the regular ball with it. All of the balls I could find locally were 40 mm balls, which would not work in the vase. I finally found some at a local dime store. You can get them from various places on the Internet. Khin may have started making these with the new international standard 40 mm balls. As long as you have a couple of extra balls, you should be in good shape.

You should check out Eric Hansen's web site http://www.magicnook.com/EricHansen/EricHansen.htm He makes Egg Vases, but I am sure he might be willing to make you a vase for ping pong balls no matter the size. I love the Birds Eye wood vase he made for me!

The vases are not Khin's best work. The base of the vases are very brittle and tend to chip. Contacting Eric Hansen is a good alternative for some very nice vases that don't have the problems that Khin's have.

If you're looking for the version with the gaff, check out Colin Rose http://www.fiveofheartsmagic.co.uk He has some nice vases at reasonable prices. There is one in African Blackwood that is just beautiful.

I bought the 2" sponge ball and vase from mymagic.com. The vase itself is nice and worth the money, but I did need to use fine sandpaper to sand off the roughness.

I purchased and received the half dollar coin vase from mymagic.com today! A real piece of junk, nothing like the sponge ball vase. It cost $35 and appears to be worth no more than $2. It arrive with a gouge in the lid and unfinished in various areas. BEWARE!

Send it back.
The premise of that vase is silly, anyway.
