I own the original Real Ghost. The differences from what I understand are the original Real Ghost you can carry around, and use it as an impromptu effect, where Real Ghost 2 is more of a stage effect. Real Ghost 2 must be setup in advance of your performance, but you can achieve multiple touches to your volunteer.

You don't have to use Real Ghost to just give touches: I've used the original Real Ghost to make a coin fall off of a table at will. When the coin hits the ground, you do not even have to touch it. Let the spectator pick it up and examine it. Requires some basic setup and maybe a bit of practice, but a real cool effect.
