I apologize for not posting this earlier, but if you live in New England, you might be interested that the Big Y grocery chain is having a great sale on Bicycle Playing Cards: Buy One, Get Two Free, making them a dollar a pack. Unfortunately, the sale ends this Wednesday, and you must have the Big Y savers card to take advantage of this deal.

After I made the first post, I decided to go to my local Big Y to check it out personally, but when I got there I had a difficult time finding where they kept the Bicycle cards. As I wandered up and down the aisles, I noticed there were playing cards hanging on plastic strips in every other aisle, but they all turned out to be more obscure brands (Streamline, 1860, Carta Mundi etc.). Finally, I found two packs of Election 2008 Democrat Bicycles in the snack aisle, and Jumbo Index bikes in Stationary. I brought the Election bikes to the checkout counter, and asked if these cards were included in the sale. The salesgirl told me that they were, and also found out the cashiers were given a couple of decks in the ugly new box to push at checkout. Of course, when the cards went through the scanner, I was charged $2.99 for each deck, but the salesgirl promptly deleted the charges for two of the deck when I pointed it out to her. It was quite a bit of trouble just to save a few bucks, but I'm happy with the Election bikes which I'll add to my collection. Even though they are outdated, I found the quality better than the last bikes I bought, and liked the novelty of the Kings being George Washington, the Queens Martha Washington, and the Jacks Abraham Lincoln. I'm sure I can use them in some sort of patriotic themed packet trick.
