Hi Everyone,
I'm looking to produce a small swimming fish in a bowl of water, but would like a fake fish (not a real fish) as part of my performance. Does anyone know if motorised fake fish can be purchased online? I've seen some on these hong kong sites, but you can purchase them only in bulk as a wholesaler. Would anyone know of any tiny realistic looking battery powered swimming fake fish can be purchased online? Thanks for any help, |

An alternate solution is to buy (or make) non-powered decorative fish that are held down in the water by little weights attached to invisible thread. Replace the weights with little magnets and you can make them move about realistically with magnets that move about within a base beneath the fish bowl. If you produce the bowls of water and fish in your act, the audience will not be looking for much movement until you set the bowl(s) down, and at that point, if they are sitting on the moving magnets, you will have achieved the result of realistic moving fish. One magnetic fish per bowl can be used to cause movement in a few more non-magnetic fish within the same bowl.

Hi everyone above,
Thanks so much for your advice. I like the carrot idea (I saw David Stone use that principle), but need to have it out of my hands and automated. I will try contacting the supplier and hope for the best, thank you. My question now is, where do you get moving magnets from - that sounds like a great idea, Thanks again, |

This time of year you can often buy a Christmas Village scene with a mirror lake and little magnetic skaters that whiz around on top of it (because it has hidden moving magnets inside beneath the mirror). Use it for a Christmas decoration and then drop the lake into your magic table so you can use it the rest of the year to activate your magnetic fish.
