Greetings,
I'm about to move into coin magic using an expanded shell (half-dollar). How do you carry the shell with you on a daily basis? I constantly carry magic on my person (pockets, wallet) so I'm always prepared but a day or two may pass before the opportunity arises to do a coin trick for someone. What do you recommend for carrying a shell around constantly for sporadic use? Should I keep it over a real half-dollar and wrap a rubberband around them? Keep the shell in a small plastic coin holder? I did some searches on this site but didn't find anything. If this has already been discussed, please direct me to the link. Thanks! Bob L. |

You should keep a coin in the shell for support. The Coin Tidy made by Jerry O'Connell and sold by Craig Dickson at Wizardcraft (or a similar holder) is ideal for the shell and other coins and gimmicks

I always carrt my cons in small puse, [ are over a coin. If I,m carrying a f**per I then keep the [ on th flipper. aaaaaathe use of the purse helps to avoid lose and damage, The [ is protected bythe reigidity of the underlying coins and the fliooer by the sf'hell.

The shell should be nested with a coin for support. Other than that it should put where they won't seperate. If they do seperate you could damage the thin edges of the shell. Where ever you keep it should keep it flat.
I usually keep 4 halves with a shell nested over one of them in that little pocket over the right front pant pocket. You never notice they are there until you think of it. Other than that some sort of coin or media purse. If storing only 1 coin with a shell over it then here are also those clear plasic coin envelopes you can find in any coin shop that work perfectly. |

I concur on the purses. I use the small ones Gosh coin purses. You can put each coin trick in one and pull them out as needed.

I'm with TC. I use the same purses (but my wife really liked them so I had to buy one for her as well)

There is a nice thing called a "Pocket Pocket," and is exactly that - A little heavy cloth 6 pocket coin carrier that fits neatly in your pants pocket. It's great and holds all my coins in my pocket flat (with no noise too) for me to retrieve on a moments notice without even taking the thing out of my pocket. It's a great value and tool. It'll work with shells too and even other close-up items.
Carl Andrews' "The Pocket Pocket" is available for $10 at his site (at bottom of page). http://www.carlandrews.com/products.html

we usually suggest this type for pocket carry. It rolls up nicely to a small wallet yet holds a generous number of coins. I like how it segments the coins too - allowing you to organize them better. We used to carry a number of the other style cases but when we got these, we liked them so much we just decided to stick with them.

I've seen posts about this Pocket Pocket thing before, but when I go to Carl Andrews' site there is no description - beyond what you mentioned - and no pictures of it. Do you know anywhere I could at least get a view of it, and maybe some dimensions? Thanks! Jim |

Mark,
I have one of those, but the interior looks a bit different. Mine appears to have a black suede lining - dyed I imagine. My only problem with it is that when I open/unroll it a few coins always come tumbling out. The pockets aren't very tight. I just have to be extremely careful when I open it and try to make sure it is 100% upright - plus make sure I am over a table or something. Thank you. Jim |

I saw the gaff for Miser's Dream Granted today and am now ordering it. I either carry my shell nested on a half in a coin purse or on this bad boy: It is available from High Caliber Magic, the guys who make the holsters to hold your props. The page still shows that it is coming soon. I contacted Joel back in May and ordered one. He said they were producing them but their new webpage hasn't been designed. I may write a review on my cuff and they will be forced to update their page due to all the inquiry's. I love this cuff ... it is downright sexy.

Put a n42+magnet in your back trouser pocket. The shell sits over the load coin and holds it in place - your jacket hides it from view. You can grab it at a seconds notice.
keep it simple. |
