I've heard that the best fake money around can be found in Hollywood films but even the big production companies have been known to get into trouble because it can be a little too good. I've heard they now print the same things on both sides of phony bills for movies (ie Franklin's head on both sides). Probably better to just use real bills for whatever you're doing or use 1's instead of 100's!

The only thing that would get you in trouble is trying to spend it.
Even the two bill transposition using a one and a five(jim temples be-switched) can be scary if you read the law to the letter just like defacing money, such as tearing money. If you use fake bills just for magic you got no worries,or many products using bills would not be on the market, such as greed and fraud from Daniel Garcia. That is if you read the law to the letter. The most realistic bills I have found are a company that does print the fronts AND backs of the bills, but the size is a sleight bit smaller and it has "not real tender" printed on the bills and they sell mostly to hollywood. http://www.presentationresources.net/play_money.html Best prices also(by far),but not sure how long they would last. Search ebay for some nice million dollar bills that are the exact size of US currency. You can play with the bills, you just can't spend them,or businesses like this would be shut down, just that simple! like MagicWGH said, hollywood had a little trouble, but the story I read was about a scene in a movie where a suit case full of cash was thrown from a roof top raining down thousands of fake bills, which someone I assume picked some up and tried to spend it,or the police was worried it could cause such problem and I agree. I have no worries using legal fake money, but I don't try to spend it either. S |

I've been looking for some realistic looking bills too. The ones on that site look pretty good however I'm wondering how well they would hold up to the "rigors" of money magic. The price is right and you seem to get plenty of each bill so making new "gimmicks" shouldn't be too big a problem.
I think I'll "take the plunge" and order a set.

Well, I ordered the complete set of the bills. The price wasn't too bad considering how many of each bill you get. If they look like the pics on the site then they should be pretty darn nice looking. TWOCAN, I'll give you a review of the bills when I get them.

I got my package of "realistic money" today and I am very disappointed. The pics that they show on the website look pretty darn good but what I got looks nothing like what is displayed, not even close.
I went back to the website and compared what they sent to me with what they have displayed and without going into a long "song and dance" about it let me just say that what I got is NOT what they have pictured. Like I said, not even close. I'll try and scan a few of the bills and post the pics so you guys can see for yourselves. The differences are quite shocking. The website said that they have a 100% satisfaction guaranteed warranty on all of their products so I'll be contacting them asap about a refund. We'll see what happens.

Bob Little usually has some fake money. They do not feel like legit bills, but they look pretty darn good. He has all sorts of denominations and even a few denominations that do not exist. I'm sure they will work if flashed during a routine and not given to a spectator to handle.
BTW. If anyone has an old trick called JUMPING SIGNED BILL , please let me know. Mine has been colecting dust for 20 years and I ulled it out the other day for a magic club meeting and just could not remember how to get the bill sealed in the glass. And naturally, the instructions disappeared over the years. THANKS |
