Hi to all at 'The Magic Café'. I'm new to the art of magic and have been having great fun learning as I go. Recently I bought some 'Tango' coin shells; English 2p and 10p. My question is about the sound they make! quite tinny and I'm concerned that this could be easily picked up by the audience. Have I bought cheap? or is this just something I need to work around? Advice please. Great to be on board.

Paul,
If they do sound "tinny" when you put them down, make some other noise to cover. Cough, talk to the audience, use something that is supposed to make a noise, bang your hand on the table, anything. Tango coins are good props so, no, you haven't bought cheap. Welcome to The Café by the way. Hope your coin work goes well, Tom

Thanks 'Scottish' Tom. I hear what you say, all part of the deception and fun...
Thanks for the tips. Paul. |

You are very welcome.
You're correct too, having fun is what it is all about, for the audience and you.

Also keep in mind that you are focused on the coins in every way. the spectator may truly not hear any sound relating to the coins.
This is a good reason why it is good to try out routine with friends and family. If they spot something, it will be a lot less painful that if a stranger does. Bob |

Get some coin dvds and see how the performers get around this .. Once you know, it's no big problem anymore... ...

DVD's by David Roth are good as are the New York Coin Seminars.
