Greetings,
Since it is doubtful we will get a section here for readers, can anyone recommend an existing friendly board for readers with a magic background where they discuss tarot, palmistry, etc - but are also open to discussions of cold reading, stock reading, etc? Magicians and Mentalists sometimes are not so friendly to readers; and 'shut eye' forums (yea I know we hate that term but you know what I mean) are typically not friendly to conversations regarding the incorporation of cold reading and the like, so we are kind of stuck in the middle. I'm guessing that's why Richard W says he doesn't belong to any clubs anymore. I did check out S Black's forum, but I am not at the qualifying level of 'professional psychic entertainer' to warrant acceptance, and am not sure I ever will be doing mostly private readings. Thanks in advance! |

What's the best off the shelf software for boards? Talk Magic in the UK uses phpBB and it seems to work pretty well for them. Any other candidates?
Anyone want to join a steering committee to start to work out what it would take to create a reader's board using phpBB or other forum software? We need a designer, a programmer or two and someone to spearhead the development not to mention hosting. Anybody game? Rocky

I cannot help out with setting up a new forum for readers because I am a luddite when it comes to technology. I know nothing. But I love the idea, and would support it in any ways that would be possible for me.
Also, I would love to see a separate forum for readers here. We need it. The fact that the hypnotists can all get on, despite the fact that some believe and others don't, shows that it is possible.

Another thumbs up for mysteryperformers.com
I actually had some conversations there recently, in a section for readers and for cold reading. I actually learned stuff. People were civil, debate continued, people agreed to disagree. Pretty much all of them are members of the magic Café. Most of them seem to be joining simply because they're fed up not being able to be themselves around here. |

Mr Vanderbeck,
Consider yourself invited also Kam

Greetings,
There is a really good forum getting going over at http://alchemymoon.heavenforum.com/forum.htm that is respectful to psychics, readers, and mentalist alike. The conversations so far are both civil and intelligent, and people are treating each other with professional courtesy. Please check it out if this sounds like the kind of place you are looking for. I have also sent a registration request in to Mysterperformers.com but have yet to hear back, if someone could put a good word in for me As readers, we most definitely need a few good places where we can have professional debate and idea sharing without drama. Thanks! |
