I bought the DVD & watched it awhile back. You always get your money's worth from Gazzo! Just being able to watch him perform is a learning experience in itself!

He had the stroke in 1994. The next year, he was out at Scarborough Faire doing a busking show. I met Gazzo that year. I knew about him from, of all people, Mike Rogers.
I had heard from Mike that Gazzo did an excellent cups and balls routine. So I asked him if he still performed it. That's when he told me about the stroke. He also mentioned that he was practicing the routine as often as he could, just to get back into shape. I told him that if he wanted an appreciative audience, to come backstage at the theatre where I was performing. He eventually did just that. Approximately 10 years later, those cups that he used and that pouch were in my collection. The idea that Gazzo would perform for a crowd when he was "rusty" seems rather presumptuous to me. The man performs more in a week than some people perform in a lifetime.

Bill, thank you for that story. He must have worked hard to come back from that terrible misfortune. Not just magic, but emotionally, physically, etc. Very inspiring!
