Thanks Billgussen -
I too found that the crush balls fit perfectly in my Johnson cups and as you said there is no sticking at all. Our local Dollar Store didn't have anything like this in stock yesterday. I'll keep checking back with them. Bill Palmer - I agree that incongruous final loads are much more startling and seem to garner a better reaction.

I've seen these in several different "Dollar stores."
Harry Monti told me that when he designed his cups, there was a red rubber ball that he found at a local toy store that was the "target" for these cups. He has a way of measuring the ball by wrapping his fingers around it. Since my fingers aren't long enough, I have to rely on a dial caliper or a cup.

I found some balls at the local Wal-Mart called "Chuck-it" yesterday while shopping for consumables. They are heavy rubber and colorful. Since I didn't have my cups I waited.
This morning I returned with cup in hand (jacket) and those balls were a bit tight... they jutted out the mouth about .125". Drats!! Still lookin'...but those Ammar fruits are beginning to look enticing. BTW I miked a cup and here are the measurements: Saddle depth: .1790" or a little less than 3/16". Inside depth from inside saddle to mouth edge: 2.4005" or about 2 3/8". Outside length: 2.6245" or about 2 5/8". ID of mouth: 2.5870" or about 2 9/16". So ideal ball diameter is 2.3625" or 60mm for my cup... Cardamagically, DOm

When you do find balls that are right for you, buy every one in the store, because you'll never find them again.

It depends on where you go. I found about half a gross of proper sized lacrosse balls at a local sporting goods store. I restrained myself, though, and bought only a few dozen.

Our local Dick's Sporting Goods doesn't carry Lacrosse balls. They have all the equipment imaginable for nearly every sport I can think of, yet lacrosse balls aren't an option. The manager said that the Charlotte store (an hour drive) was the nearest location that stocked them. I guess the next time I am getting my car serviced I will take some cups and check out the Charlotte store.

A fun note on cat toys, I found some in 1" and the in about 2" bot they look the same just up sized, so I have the balls get bigger. If only they sold toys for bob cats, I would have loads for my Andy comic cups.

Check out the large rubber balls that are sold as dog toys. When Don Alan did the chop cup with the Rings and Things cups, he used a three inch Cressite® dog ball. The pet shop is a great source of load balls.

Quote: I ordered some Fab Fruits (a lemon, lime, tomato, and potato) from Michael's website and I am quite happy with the quality and realism of the product.
