I'm losing the will to live.
How many £$!!*** times are we going to see posts from young Mr Kras looking to elicit praise or sympathy where, when the expected response isn't wholly forthcoming, the story is changed in his favour. And is there nobody in that £$"!*** school he gets on with !!! |

Yea it is an odd form of attention Michael needs. He has an amazing ability to look for praise, affirm his own belief and opinion, and completley ignore anything that may not be in line with his own thought process.
And the odd thing is that in the long run, and in the short run this will stunt him so badly that he will amount to little in performance. I keep hoping against hope he will turn it around some day, but all that happens is he joins new forums to seek praise.

Have we not yet established that I am reading and taking advice... You are all doing what you accuse me of doing... You're only reading what you want to read.

Okay. It's clear my motives have been misinterpreted. Haven't I made it clear that I'm here for an assessment of my performance. Whatever, apparently I'm a praise seeker. In any case, I'm done here.

Michael, no obviously you have NOT established that you are willing to take advice. You are willing to read things, and defend them as if you are a mother tiger, when you should be learning. It happens every thread you have started since you put out your lecture notes. Then you get indignant, (much like a 16 year old tends to get) then leave in a huff.
Look back Michael it is your pattern and it is getting tiresome to the adults.

I'd be one of the adults - I swear and smoke like there's no tomorrow - that's grown-up.

Laurie good point. BUT to be fair Michael has a habit of placing things up for "review" and when he does get actual help, blowing it off in lieu of simply reading the "good job Michael" part of the post.
This is no way to learn, and at 16 Michael is still at the point where learning is THE most important thing, and if you only listen to people tell you that you are great, this is really no way to learn. It bites being 16 and being probably THE most creative person at school, but in the grand scheme of things being sort of average. Once the big fish from the small pond starts to swim in a bigger pond, it is not quite as big. If you don't continue to grow (through things other than ego gratification) and in sometimes painful ways and re examining your own belief system, you will be eaten by the bigger fish. It would be smarter to get those bigger fish trying to help you some. That is really all I am saying.

I apologize... Maybe I should be more careful to establish specific circumstances at the outset instead of bringing them up later.
