Hello Orzamir,
As I have previously owned this item and never used it, in fact I sold it within a short time of purchase, I will answer your questions. 1) It's good on the demo video, its a nice effect ( note I have used the word nice ) . 2) Depends how "obvious" you make it 3) No, only when you make the changes 4) Yes 5) Your hand at the back is needed for each change. I would like to add the following questions and answers to give you a better idea !. 6) Is it practical ? - No 7) Is it "fidly" ? - Yes 8) Do I have to make alterations to my clothing ? - Yes ( probably ). 9) Should I buy it ? - Now I am not one to try and knock an inventor or new item I am just trying to give a personal view on what I purchased and the answer would be No, you will be disappointed, but... it does look good on the video 10) Is it well made ? - Yes, but that doesn't mean you should buy it. Let me sum it all up by saying that due to how it works, the set up and method used it is not practical. I know this is probably not what you wanted to hear but I would prefer to give you my honest view. If it was worth the money then I would say so. Stuart. Orzamir,
I have tried to answer your questions in a different light: 1. It's good? The effect is visual with the correct focus. I am not a great fan of "small" colour changes (gloves for example I have never seen performed with any reaction from the audience, but I fear this is the nature of the item in question, rather than the wrong focus or method). The bow tie can be presented as a fast and furious colour change with the attention on the item, or it can be presented slowly throughout a routine as a running gag with limited focus on the item itself. 2. The hand on the back, not suspicious? If you are using this on stage, then you are free to cover this action with your body. In a close-up situation, you are at an advantage if you are sitting. 3. I have to hold my hand on my back from the start of the show? or only when I want to change? The bowtie can be worn from the beginning of your show and you are free in your movements. The hand only does the dirty work during the actual change, and then it only disappears for a split second. 4. There is Six colors, I can change them in row? This depends on your routine. This also depends on your dexterity and the amount of practice you put into the piece. It also depends on the type of clothing you wear - this is all explained in the instructions. A wing collar shirt is best to wear with this. It is possible to make all six changes in succession and continue ad infinitum if you so desire. 5. I can change them on other times without hand on my back between? As I said before your hand is only engaged for a split second as the change occurs, otherwise it is free in between changes. To answer Stuart's questions 6) Is it practical ? Stuart answered "No", however I have to disagree. The set up is minimal (you just have to dress) and the effect is ready in place all the time. I have to ask "practical in relation to what?" 7) Is it "fiddly" ? Stuart answered "Yes", however I have to say "No". The operation is smooth and with the correct rehearsal works like a dream - it really is fast! I had my doubts that the change would occur properly (can't reveal too mcuh here!), however I was proved wrong and the changed tie always appears as it should do automatically. 8) Do I have to make alterations to my clothing ? - Stuart answered "Yes ( probably )", however I have to say that if you wear the correct clothes, then no alterations need to be made. 9) Should I buy it ? - Stuart answered "Now I am not one to try and knock an inventor or new item I am just trying to give a personal view on what I purchased and the answer would be No, you will be disappointed, but... it does look good on the video" - Personally you were disappointed with this item. I don't know if you knew what you were buying beforehand, and why you were so disappointed? As you say the quality is excellent and the effect is visually pleasing (I would say more than "nice") 10) Is it well made ? - Yes, but that doesn't mean you should buy it. These were made in limited number as the bow ties were specially commisioned. If you are in any doubt about this, then please consult the book "Quick Change" where this is described in full detail. |
