If you have seen the video you will know what I am talking about. When it comes to
'squishing' the bill back into the TT my notes won't 'squish'. However hard I push it won't go in!! I wonder if it can only be done with US bills - maybe they are softer or thinner paper? |

Hey Gary,
I've been having the same problems. In the video, Dick says to use old and worn out bills, but they have to be REALLY worn out to fit back in. I have yet to encounter anyone who just happens to have an about-to-fall-apart-and-disintegrate bill on them (which is what you need for it to work properly). I'm fortunate enough to have my own way around it. I'm a bartender, so I'll slip one of my own worn out bills into my tip jar and when I want to perform it, I'll just use the bill out of my jar. It does lose some impact not having been a borrowed bill, but it's the best I can come up with at the moment. |

I did not find it that difficult at all. The best thing that I can suggest is to hold your thumb in the middle of the bill, not at the very edge, as you slide it in. This will allow for the bill to fold in a bit(because your thumb is not in the way.)

I did wonder about using an especially large TT. Very worn bills as well - good one. I'm glad I'm not alone in difficulties!

If a worn bill is preferred, you might want to ask "for a VERY worn bill. The older, the better. This is pretty hard on the bill and I don't want to take the chance of damaging a crisp, brand new one."
You might get just what you need!

Hmm, This thread is almost 4 years old..
but yeah, to all the Visi-bill performers out there...do you actually borrow a bill from someone?? Richard Sanders mentioned something about bending and making the side that is entering the TT a bit worn by folding it backwards and forwards so that it won't be too brittle...but obviously you can only do that with your own prepared bill... Any thoughts? |

I solved this problem with a Vernet extra large thumbtip. Note that this is not the same as the Vernet "king size" thumbtip. The king size is longer, but the extra large is wider which makes the "move" relatively easy whether it's a crisp bill or not.
From the DVD it looks like Richard Sanders himself uses one of these wider thumb tips. |
