I am leaving for another cruise in the summer and thought of taking my ladder levitation with me. Has somebody experience with the levi on a cruise ship for a longer period? Did you once have problems because the state of the sea and the swell. Insider will know the critical points. For an answer please be careful with the secret infos. Maybe than a helpful PM would be appreciated.
PS: Angels will be no prob. |

Angels are generally not a problem - unless you really make them mad!
Always be wary of angles however. (Sorry, just couldn't resist since I have a hard time with spelling those two myself) Good luck on the cruise.

Hi Joy
I work from 8 years on cruise ships and sometimes when the ship "move" to much I always avoid to do levitations! Can be dangerous for the person on top! Actually I perform a vertical levitation build from Eric Olsen (BYTOF ILLUSION) which is very good but I put in a special point in the show that if the ship start to move, I have another illusion ready to do. Sometimes the sea can be really *** with the magicians...lol... :)

Thank you very much Luca for your informations. That confirms my thoughts. I was thinking of probs maybe also on low state of sea (and depending on the stabilizers or need for a fast trip of the ship to keep the next appointment).
The BYOTF is a bit more safe against swell. And at least you can only hurt yourself. ;-) |

Doug - that was a nice gag. I did have to laugh about it. A nice sighting of my mistake.

On a modern stabilized ship I would generally see no problem -- but on a rolling sea -- stabilizing the final position could be problematic. On assistants rolling off --- there's always velcro (LOL)
