New Twisted Collector's is an effect taught in Paul Harris' Art Of Astonishment, book 1. Though I imagine it must be fairly well known, I have never seen it discussed on forum's (As far as I can remember), nor have I seen any mention of it on the ever-present Youtube. I have been doing it a while now and would like to talk about it a little.
A little background; The effect is the creation of underground legend JC Wagner, and respected card-man Allan Ackerman. The effect is thus; Three card's are selected, lost in the deck, and the magician directs attention to the four aces, face up on the table. He picks up the aces and spreads them, displaying them very fairly. The packet is turned faced down and counted. All cards are face down. A magical gesture, and upon counting the cards again, one ace has turned face-up. Another gesture, and another ace turns face-up. This is repeated until all four aces are face up. The aces are dealt singly to the table, showing four and only four face-up cards. They are scooped up and dealt again, whereupon three face-down cards seem to appear between them! The spectator's are invited to inspect the cards, and it happens that the three mystery cards are indeed, their selections. -The whole routine happens away from the deck. The handling renders it unfeasible that you could be hiding extra cards. -The three selections can be signed, which is a good idea as the routine is quite involved. -... That said, it is quite fast-paced, and when done confidently, always entertaining. -The handling is beautiful. The choreography on the final revelation is a perfect example of real thinking in magic. This post is to alert anybody who has the books who may have overlooked this gem, that it's a true keeper. Maybe it will inspire those who haven't read the book (... Just the two of you?) to pick it up. Maybe one day I'll return to video and post a performance speed vid of it. CL

I actually perform this and performed it to a bunch of people at magic-con while we were discussing collectors.
