I've a use for a giant flexible pencil prop. See one used by Steve Spill in the 1998 YouTube video "Steve Spill Comedy Magic": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZDVlVzA9WiE. The giant flexible pencil is seen on the video from 2:15 through 2:20.
Have searched since early last summer with no success & am hoping that someone will know where to locate such a prop. The closest I've found is the Foam Pencil by Goshman: http://www.mjmmagic.com/store/foam-pencil-by-goshman-p-218.html. Whilst close, this isn't exactly the visual effect desired. Have located numerous giant wooden pencils of the required configuration: http://www.baronbob.com/giant-pencil.htm. Alas, no flexible ones. Am considering making myself a giant flexible pencil utilizing the sharpened tip & eraser from a giant wooden pencil joined to either end of a length of garden hose painted 'pencil' yellow. Thanks in advance for your time & consideration.
Pleased to continue finding that all the world's a stage.

Using a hose sounds right. You could possibly stuff something inside the hose to adjust the flexibility if necessary. I'm thinking about those swimming pool toys they call "noodles" that are about 4' long and 4" in diameter. Cutting something from something like that and putting it inside the hose might increase the stiffness without losing the flexibility.
You could cut the tip and eraser off your wooden pencil a little bit longer than you need and then shave off some wood for several inches to create a plug to fit inside the hose and match the diameter of the finished pencil. |

Perhaps inserting a compression spring into the hose would give it the necessary stiffness - kind of like a spring snake when it has expanded.
