Hiya Gang! I used to know nothing about the Cups & Balls. Zero, Ziltch, Nada, No comprendo la cups and ballsio. If you had asked me to show you a C & B routine, I would have pulled out my Chop Cup and bonked you on the head with it. A false transfer?! What the heck is that? Pshaw! I prided myself on only doing Walk Around, Corporate type stand up style magic. A table?! That is something we eat off! Ha! ~And then something happened... I got the bug to go busking. Where it came from, who knows! But it was like a disease. I felt myself slowly deteriorating every time I stayed indoors. Don't get me wrong, I've done thousands of gigs- both Walk Around and Stage, but it wasn't the street. I got the idea into my head that I wasn't (in my mind) the real thing until I set my magical foot on the sidewalk... So I went looking for routines. And it always came back to the Cups and Balls~ Cellini, Gazzo, Morris, Palmer; it was universal. Vernon was the final knock-out blow. I had to learn it. The thing was, I had never liked it. So I started to ask myself why. I came up with two reasons: 1) Most routines I saw were a bit too "confrontational" for my tastes. Making people guess where balls were simply didn't suit my style. 2) I had never understood the bead around the middle of the cup. Was it supposed to look like two or something? How come I've never drank out of a cup with a bead around it? Why was it there? Now, of course, I understand the reasoning, but it never looked right for me. And so it began. I stumbled upon James Prince's awesome routine (which I'm proud to say will be included with the JDG Fundamentals) which I loved. It was quick, surefire and used no extra balls. I changed the premise to a 3 Shell Game theme- I even go so far as to introduce the cups as shells. "Folks, I'm going to show you that game you see in New York. You know, the Three Shell Game. You guys have really been nice, though, so I've made these bigger for viewing and learning purposes!" Secondly, I was talking with the amazing Donnie Buckley one day (I was still raving about my Mini Don Alan Chop Cup) and was lamenting the center bead, when he said those magical words, "I can make you a set without it." And there it was. Now no one here appreciates more than I the sheer audacity of me coming out with my own set of cups. It's nothing short of a mix between embarrassment and impertinence. However, in my defense, I would like to say that I know, perhaps, a thing or two about design. And, something I know for sure, is that I know what I like. And what Donnie sent me was exactly what I had in mind: a) No Center Bead. b) Heavy. c) The exact size for a tennis ball, so no matter where in the world I end up, I can find a final load. d) They could pass as something I would use to con someone via the Three Shell Game. That they wouldn't look out of place, on the street or indoors. So that's the story. After some further brainstorming, Donnie and I thought that there might be a few other crazy people, like myself, who would like to approach the Cups and Balls the way I am, so we're releasing these as "The JDG Fundamental Cups". Why Fundamental? Because that's their design... They're not made to stack (although they will if you don't mind a scuff or two- which being on the street will be of zero consequence). They're not made to do Stacking moves. They're not made to look super fancy. And, most importantly, they're not made to stay on a shelf. They're made for you, the magician, to take the fundamental elements of the Cups and Balls and to bring them to the world. The fundamentals being, Wonder, Surprise, and my favourite~ Joy. Coming Soon! Thanks for reading and I look forward to hearing your road stories. Jamie D. Grant http://www.Professional-Magician.com

Looking forward to seeing how much the cost will be. Great job.
