If anyone follows me on here, they know that this is a trick I'm crazy about. When I was a kid, the Miser's Dream was always my favorite trick.
As a performer, I've practiced it thoroughly and do a really good job with the presentation and patter. My latest thing; I tell a story that parents take coins out of the kids ears while they are asleep. The tooth fairies real job is to come in every night and clean up the coins that the parents accidentally leave behind. However she is easily distracted and when you put a tooth under the pillow she accidentally leaves some of the money behind. Anyway. The point is I can't end this trick. I'm always left standing there with a bucket full of coins saying 'And uhhh... thank you very much' I mean, there must be some grand finale, right? Please help me out here. I'm all about sharing material. Please put me onto some ideas to end this trick or lead it into another one smoothly. As always, thanks in advance, Perry D |

End by saying...
I've shown you how parents get coins, You have now seen how the tooth fairy gets coins, but let me show you how a magician gets the coins... Lean his head over and pour a shower of coins from his ear (or from under his arm, or from his nose) for a shower of coins finale. |

The way I ended the Miser's Dream was this:
I went from single coin productions with a bucket to a Viking coin ladder. Then I did a shower of coins from each hand. The last "coin" I produced was a mylar coil, which I cascaded. I then produced a giant silver dollar from the mylar ribbons.

Have the "Tooth Fairy" make an appearance...she comes and collects the coins. Use the Zombie principle, along with a mesh wire gizmo in the shape of the Money Pail, which you cover with a foulard so the "Fairy" wont be too scared, or, because she "Only works in the dark".
Then, the pail floats up under the foulard....and vanishes, coins and all for a big, splashy finish that keeps your theme and cool idea intact.

I was about to say about a shower finale like in Glen Harrison's routine described in Bobo's book with a hanky; you make the coins tou have produced dissapear with a hanky, you drop the hanky, pick it up and shake it for a coin shower, then you have a kicker shower by shaking it again.
But this... Quote:

Pete: I was just about to write "Spring bills". Often when you perform the Misers Dream someone in the audience says something about the value of coins. Produce a bunch of spring bills are relly funny at those times. If noone sais anything - you can get them to say what you want with a good script.

Anyone know a source for spring bills these days? They seem to have become something of a rarity.
Bob Solari has kind of a cool Miser's Dream routine for sale. You pluck coin after coin from the air, and each is heard to plunk into the "bucket". When you dump the bucket, there is one Jumbo coin. So there is a mystery as to where all those coins came from, and then a mystery as to where all those coins went. Really easy, and very effective. I believe Kozmo, among others, uses it.

Abbott's Magic makes spring bills, but I have seen a number of sites on the web with spring bills. Here is one Don't know if David Cresey Products still make them.

Reach out for one final coin, and wind up with an over sized tooth. Act surprised and study it for a bit. Then look up realizing what just happened. Look in the bucket then turn it over, showing it empty. Exclaim "Tooth Fairy!!!", looking around as if she took the coins, while you were distracted with the tooth. Say "Oh well. I guess I'll get it back when I lose my teeth.".

Several of the ideas on here have me going down a path.
Say you wait until the bucket is full of coins and then invite up a spectator. I use an automatic funnel gag on the spectator running the water into the bucket. Then I drape a foulard over the bucket. When I yank it away its brimming over with spring bills. This approach is basically expanding the misers dream into the Hindu tree effect. It would be awesome if you could get an actual tree of bills that collapses down really small. I think it really adds a new dynamic to this effect and the kids will go ape. |

It seems to me, producing a jumbo sized tooth (possibly using the bucket described by Scott Guinn) somewhere near the end of your routine then becoming distracted, is a logical way to end (based on your patter). Of course I am not creative enough to come up with the details.
Good luck, Jered
