Epic Flight was a trick sold in the 80's where you had two keys, had a participant mark one with a marker and it switched places with another one. It has been printed in the latest Genii this month which has a feature on Ben Harris who originated it. I used Epic flight for a few years in my restaurant work and it was a very strong effect and one I would suggest might fit your theme.

The Epic Flight principle (a very interesting one, if I may add), can also be used to "teleport" e.g marked coins and other objects with a certain characterestic. And it's not "limited" to teleportations if you do a bit of brainstorming.
Basically the principle allows a (permanent) marking - say an X or someones initials - to disappear. /Matias |

Tony Shiels had an intresting effect dealing with this theme in his book "13" might be worth a look.

Yes I remember Epic Flight, wasn't that the one where the black mark magically appears on your thumb and you have to go wash your hands before continuing around the tables?

...alternatively, Paul, you can do the Heba-Haba Al effect where their initials turn up everywhere.

For an interesting double teleportation using a borrowed credit card and audience-initialed, sealed envelopes, check out "Mental Credit" in Richard Mark's Mind Warp. Unlike Lesley's teleportation, this one uses ungaffed envelopes.
Personally, I steer clear of bill tubes and other devices that look too obviously like magic equipment. As for Philemon's smashing-the-geode idea, what a marvelously dramatic idea -- although your next demonstration might have to be restoring to pristine condition the remains of the borrowed ring that you accidentally pulverized in the process!

A long while back Tannen's was selling a "Card in Rock" effect. Pretty close to what Philemon is talking about...but...it's a card trick. However, if the card was signed by two or three people..and the rock was found out in the garden, woods,,wherever...it might play well.
In fact one of the classic stories was about an effect that Robert-Houdin performed with a silk handkerchief. It was made to vanish then Robert-Houdin asked the audience where they would like the handkerchief to appear. He gave them a choice of three places. The first was an easy one..somewhere in the room( no challenge at all)...second was the garden...third was very difficult to get to so majority of the audience chose the garden..A miracle!
