Known in the profession as the “Magicomedian,” George Schindler’s comedy magic act has been acclaimed around the world. George is an all round “entertainer” whose motto is “entertainment first.” His magic has been showcased on a grand scale in the “World of Illusion” performed with his wife Nina as well as in his close-up act which he has performed in virtually every possible venue including corporate events and trade shows. The prestigious lifetime title "Dean of American Magicians" was conferred on George in July 2005 by the Society of American Magicians. He was selected by Woody Allen to play Chandu The Great in Allen's film "New York Stories." George is a prolific author and lecturer. In the early 1970’s, he was retained by Reiss to create a series of magic tricks which have since become highly collectible. He has lectured throughout the United States and in England, Canada, New Zealand and Australia. George was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Milbourne Christopher Foundation. His act which he performs with his wife Nina is a unique, fun-filled experience that you will never forget.

It all starts out with a cocktail hour with a lot of different appetizers set to the keyboard and vocal artistry of Wayne Gustafon, son of Past National President Dick Gustafson. Wayne is fantastic. He performs professionally throughout the country, but always makes it a point to set this date aside for us.

After the cocktail hour, we have the awards presentations for those who placed in the contests this year. Assembly 4 Dean Professor Rem presides over that. Our New President, Ed Hanisco, will then be sworn in by SAM Dean George Schindler. The buffet dinner will then begin which has something for everyone: pasta, chicken, roast beef, etc. Then, we will have the stage show which promises to be a lot of fun.

LYNN NELSON

Lynn Nelson has a tradition of performance and theatre in her family. (Her grandfather managed a vaudeville theatre in England.) Lynn grew up with tales of the theatre and magic tricks passed on to her by her dad who created many tricks for her when she was a child. In highschool, she took theatre and performed magic in variety shows, and later studied stage acting, design, costuming and sets and props production in university. While she frequently assists her husband Jeff with the performance of illusions, Lynn is a magician in her own right and presents a number of solo effects in the show, including a colorful Parasol Act.
Her Parasol Act is spectacular. It will blow you away.
