Sad news that UK ventriloquist Ray Allan passed away yesterday, aged 79. He mostly featured Lord Charles, an upper-crust, slightly inebriated and lecherous doll. In his day, very funny and in my opinion, technically the best vent. in Britain since Arthur Worsley.
I had the good fortune to appear with him on TV's 'Pebble Mill at One' - a lunch time magazine programme in the late 1970's. Rest in Peace Ray. Leslie
