It has occurred to me that Chessman is avoiding this thread.
Yet Michael always begs for constructive criticism. I sure don't. I'm weird that way. I don't want anyone to tell me I'm mediocre when I of course already know that. I'm 47. I acknowledged my shortcomings in my early 20s. |

You forgot the part where his opinion takes a 180 within hours of getting responses to the thread, says he'll indeed take the advice to heart and show little-to-no marked improvement in subsequent videos. Boy, I'm starting to sound more cynical with every post here. Where's my beer?

Hmm...dance would be the next logical progression, as we've had magic, acting, comedy, writing and now singing. Dance is one of the only arts left untouched - it could give way to athletics though.

Kevin would tell you that Michael's thesbian tendencies have led him to leave very few arts untouched. I don't see him moving to Athletics - I think he prefers avenues of endeavour where there is some ambiguity when measuring success - you can't say 'I may not have crossed the line first but everyone thought I ran the best race.' And he often likes to throw in a bit of magic with his latest passion - you try doing a double lift as you pole vault!
PS: Sir, be gentle with Kevin - it's so boring here when he's on detention. |

As long as he doesn't try to vault with this pole:

Yes....dance would make more sense since it would be hard for him to video himself designing an outfit to wear to a Bette Midler show (wonderful performer). Then will come interior design, then the ultimate....figure skater.

You guys are killing me - Josh - that wins as the worst magic demonstration I have ever seen - did he not have time to play back his 10 second performance and notice when he gave the game away half way along the pole?
Kevin - I once went to a Cher and a Bette Midler concert a couple of months apart. The Cher concert was fun but much like watching the DVD except the elephant didn't stuff up on the DVD and she didn't have the poor old Village People supporting her on the recording. Midler was astonishing - she did 15 minutes of local topical material with correct pronunciations of unusual suburbs etc and an intimate local knowledge - all for a town she was playing for 2 nights. What a worker! |

She, Bette, must have a writer with her who is very smart because she hit local topics in San Francisco big time, I mean referencing small towns that no one heard of outside the region just like you said. Wonderful show. It was the last thing we did with my mom before her passing. She had a great time.
For those not hip to it if you see most performers in one city then catch them in another they usually have it scripted to the point where the only change is the name of the city they are in. The rock bands Kansas, Styx, and Journey did that, bummed me out. |

Exactly - by the time Cher's (previous)farewell tour hit Oz I'd had the DVD for a few months and every word, every breath was the same - to the point it was quite refreshing when the elephant got stuck and she had to step outside the routine. I also once saw Tina Turner here in Cairns and 400k's away in Townsville and while it was a great concert - again exactly the same script with just the name of the town changed. The quips sound a bit strange the second time they're spontaneously adlibbed.

I enjoyed the song but it put my yellow canary on edge.
