I saw an ad on tv to get 500 color business cards for ten dollars
What they don't tell you is that you're going to be bombarded with at least 15 great offers, in order to complete the order. That's an entire 6 more then the competitors It took me 15 minutes to save 4 dollars. I usually use gotprint. At least I'm not on Dial-up.

I have used Vistaprint for ages, have never been bombarded and I get most of my stuff free (except for shipping)from them.

Neale, I think what Jay means is that you have to go through many screens of offers before you get to order and pay for you items. Of course this is how they make more money!!!
My peeve with them is that their cards aren't regular size business cards. They're smaller as are their postcards. Strange. John |

I've had extremely good luck with UPrinting.com. Their pricing is competitive and the quality has been very good!

Don't the free Vistaprint cards have a Vistaprint logo on the back of the cards?

I use to use Vistaprint because they are cheap...the only problem is they look cheap as well. My business cards are Silk Laminated and Foil Stamped which is something Vistaprint can't offer. Everything about you says something. Whether it is the way you dress, talk, or your business cards.

Hope this is useful:
Never done business cards but I've had several small batches of postcards done by online printer Vistaprint. So far the quality has been great. If you are thinking about trying them you can save a couple of extra dollars by ordering one quantity level less than you need. For example, I wanted 100 oversize postcards but went through the whole ordering and check-out having ordered 50. After I had totally checked-out I was given a 10 minute 'special' which would double my order for a couple of bucks less than ordering 100 to begin with. Another time I wanted 250 oversize postcards but I ordered 100. After check-out the offer was made to bump me up to 250. So far every time I've ordered I've been made an offer to bump up to the next quantity level for a slightly better price. Every order I've received has also contained a 25% off promo link for the next order of postcards. So, if you have multiple things cooking you might do a small order first then wait for the promo offer that comes with your postcards. Even with the 25% off you will still get the post check-out offer to increase your order size for a better price.

There have been numerous discussions of on-line printing companies in this forum. At one point, I had several large orders to print, so I tried three of them to compare quality. Vista Print, GotPrint and OverNightPrint all came in about the same quality for both flyers and postcards. I reason that their other products would be similar as well. Now I'm not loyal to any of them - I just look for the best price on what I am printing at the moment. Although I've never gone for the free stuff.

If there is one thing I can't stand, it's crummy business cards.

Of course you want good quality printing, but a quality design often speaks louder than cheap printing. I've used Vista Print for years because I go through cards extremely fast. My design is simple and elegant and gets attention.
Be sure not to have too much info. Less is more. Keep it simple and sophisticated and that will speak volumes. |

I totally agree with Benji. It is very important to look professional on paper as well as in person. Image and branding is very important. Cheap or free business cards indirectly tell people that you aren't serious about what you do and worse yet, can lead people to think they can hire you for cheap or free as well.
