Both lectures (Bloom and Benatar) were wonderful- Gaetan Bloom is devious, with some wonderfully clever, and commercial, material in his lecture and Rafael is a class act with some very clever card magic.
Definitely worth attending. Ben

Funny story, I was visiting in Toronto earlier this week but missed the Steinmeyer lecture on Sunday as I had a "date" with a friend of mine to see the Terra Cotta warriors at the ROM around the same time. Afterwords, we went to the Madison pub (big shout out to our cute waitress, I think her name was Eryn) for a few pints and had to run a virtual gauntlet of magicians to enter. Because (of course), Steinmeyer's lecture was just across the street and, post-lecture, people were thirsty. My friend, a little embarrassingly, politely leered at Julie Eng from across the street. In his defense, he was just back from vacationing in St. Maarten's where this sort of thing is tolerated, and perhaps even encouraged.
So, anyway, how was the Steinmeyer lecture? (By the way, I am fairly certain that I saw Jamy Ian Swiss in the street so I guess he was at the lecture. I saw someone who at least LOOKED sort of like Johnny Thompson there as well. Purely out of curiosity, was he?)

As you can see, JT was in attendance. No Swiss though. Jim Steinmeyer was fantastic. A real class act! In all, it was a very enjoyable afternoon. Asher . . .

Good to hear. I've met Jamy Ian Swiss several times. I would have sworn that was him I saw on the street talking with a few people, outside, after the lecture. I'm puzzled more than anything, trying to figure out who it was I saw. Could it be that JIS has a clone?
