Look what my WONDERFUL wife got me for $250 at the local closeout store!
I'ts cheaply made so I'm going to do some reinforcing, and I think I'm going to turn the top two drawers into a disguised 2-high cabinet with a fold-down-to-table door and eyes for bungees inside. But even as is, its wonderful I have a wonderful wife.

I saw some of those at Nebraska Furniture Mart in the metro Kansas City area this summer and have kicked myself for not buying one. I went back last month and they were sold out.
Nice chest!

Wow. Have fun with that great trunk! It even looks like the trunk stands at just about waist height -the perfect size to double as a table stand!
I own one of those, myself, and have not gotten too much use out of it -it's too big, and too bulky to make it entirely practical as a show-case. But on the other hand, I could probably live out of it if the need ever arose! Have a look at Jim Cellini's "Zurich lecture" DVD for his trunk, and how he uses it for his street performing show. Great ideas to be had, there...

Aren't these the old traveling cases? These are pretty hard to find. Your wife has a great eye. This is a real nice chest.

I had one but much older. it probably weighed 100lbs empty. Some type of caster is needed to move these. a corner caster would probably work best. Check some of the ata case manufactures online. the caster I speak of is one, so that when you tilt the trunk the wheels contact the floor
