Jamie (who I'd like to meet one day) is one of the most infectiously positive magicians on video. As you probably know, he somehow places sealed decks of cards in bottles. Well, he has a special series of these decks in bottles that he is giving to the world to add a little bit of wonder to people's lives. Check it out:

Nice thing for him to do.
An artist friend of mine made me aware of this similarly themed project a couple of years back: http://www.joshsimpson.com/site/infinity-project.html I was going to apply as a participant but I never did get around to doing so. Guess there is still time.

I love those things and have always wanted a bottle for my collection, but the cost... Now for Banksie (sp?).. He, or someone, recently came out with a documentary about him called (I think) "exit thru the gift shop", very well done I have heard. He recently did some stuff here in SF, one day it wasnt there, next day it was. People want this guys identity like deepthroat, he is big in the underground hip world.

I guess you are talking about Banksy the graffiti artist. I'm not sure if his identity has come out, but he is certainly well known on the other side of the pond. I did a search on him here on the Café not so long ago and it turns out there was a thread about him some time back.
Not that that has anything to do with Jamie's bottles, which are way cool!

I just meant me blathering about doing a search on him in here wasn't relevant. I was surprised there hadn't been much mention of him at the time.

I don't see how that would make any difference to finders of the bottles. I really don't see the significance of the Banksy connection. I'm really not trying to be critical in any way, just wondering out loud. Now if you told me that this project was inspired or connected to the glass artist I mentioned earlier, and that artist's own campaign of wonder, I could see that.

I don't see how it matters if its connected to your thread, no offense. The banksy thing makes them very different to the finders of the bottles. This banksy is a big time guy in the underground, and are magicians going to be looking around in alleys and tops of buildings? No, but graffitti artists are.
Do a google search on him.

Kcg5, with all due respect, I don't believe you understood a word I wrote. I think maybe you have a little too much Banksy on the brain to get what I am talking about.
I don't need to google Banksy. I know full well (unlike more than 99.99% of the population) who he is. I've even seen some of his work. Look, you could have cards in the bottle featuring various Nascar race divers. So what? I suppose some Nascar fans might get some thrill out of finding the bottles then, but it would only connect the campaign to Nascar in a very superficial way. I don't see how this "connection" to Banksy is any different. I'd guess that graffiti artists make up less than 0.01% of the population, and I don't see them being the likely finders of many if any of these bottles.

You might know more than I do about him, Its marketing, underground stuff. Its some kind of tribute to the artist.

Thanks for the kind words~ That is too kind!
As for the Banksy question/connection, it's just my way of honouring one of my favourite artists. It was his work, that he obviously does worldwide, that inspired me to start this whole Send Wonder shebang. As a result, someone who is following my project, or happens to find a bottle, will end up learning more about Banksy and that makes me happy, lol. Hope that makes sense! ~jamie

I have had so many offers to help- it's mind-blowing. What an honour to have so many people take an interest! Without the help of friends and supporters, I would never end up with drops like these:
