Hi Don
I'm glad that you like it. Joackes The junior walking knot is shorter and can be done in a parlor type show. It can only be cut in three places, and you don't need any chairs or assistants to do it. The juniou walking knot also has two complimentry tricks that done together is a nice routine.

Hank Lee announced Sep 10, 2010 in his blog that he had just made an agreement with Pavel to become the exclusive US dealer for all of his rope magic in the US. I bought several of Pavel's rope tricks in the past when he had a good sale price going on (35% off). I have also bought rope tricks directly from Pavel so I could have them made in different colors than the standard white.

I do not make the knot as per instructions, I make it more like working the professors nightmare. Also I believe the original instructions said you could "trim away" the last piece (tossing it off stage) and still be left with a complete rope. (or was that the JR version?) I have both.
I like putting the last piece back into the rope - but you could say that it's more interesting to throw away part of the rope and it's still whole.... plus, you don't have to do any moves on the last restoration. Now that I think about it,,,, why not try cutting-restoring - moving - throwing that piece away and restoring again.... then going to the other end - cutting - throwing that piece away - and restoring. Tossing away two pieces and the rope is still whole really seems impressive.

I've always thought that you should put the last piece on, but Harry Anderson threw it away as you said. I guess your two piece theory would need to be tried on a live audience to see if it makes sense to them. With this trick you could throw 16 or so pieces away if you wanted.

So it would become the "6 rope repeat trick"
