Some time ago I purchased the Twinkle Twinkle effect using yellow sponge stars and have had a little trouble mastering the routine. I believe that there is a DVD available for this effect but I can't seem to trace it. Does anyone have any ideas has to where it can be obtained? If possible in the UK, is not where else.

I seem to recall that this routine was made available for sale through Cody S Fisher. He's a member here on the Café. Why not try contacting him by PM or through his website. http://www.codyfisher.com/contact

While Cody Fisher does indeed perform this routine it is the brain child of Mark Byrne. You can see it performed on Youtube

Thanks Martin for your info but you could have told me face to face as we both belong to the MCM, I run the junior section. Thanks to Harry also, I will check out the info you have passed on.

@Don-G:
When you ask a question openly on the Café, it is expected that answers, even from people you know, be given on the forum. There's a reason for that. While Martin might know you, he may not know from your sparse description that you are, indeed, the same fellow who is in your club. Your personal profile does not indicate where you are from. The only clue is the mention in your post that you are in the UK. Interestingly, by googling "Twinkle, Twinkle sponge trick" on Google.co.uk, I found all of the above references AND MORE in a matter of a few seconds. This includes the performance DVD and the YouTube reference.

Bill, I had realised that Martin would not know who I was or I would have know who he was from the basic profile. I happen to have his business card and recognised his caricature from the card. I was just letting him be aware of who I was. I did Google myself as the first step but did not find a supplier for the DVD. I will try again.

It certainly wouldn't be difficult to do at all... Just basic sponge ball moves.

Hi Don, I didn't realise it was you but now I know. I'll see you at MCM next week. I'm reviewing Steve Dela's lecture. I remembered Cody performing the trick in his lecture at MCM a few years back. I nearly bought the trick myself. I thought it was very commercial. If you bring the effect and instructions with you I'd be happy to work it through with you. I'll watch the performance vid referenced by Harry (thanks Harry!) so it's fresh in my mind. BTW, that business card is way old...I doubt the telephone numbers are still current. The email address definitely won't be!
Hi Harry, thanks for the namecheck. I knew it wasn't Cody's routine but couldn't remember whose it was. Cody did credit it when he performed it and was selling it. Hi Bill, even if I'd have realised it was the same Don I know, I would still have posted the reference as a help to other forum members interested in the effect. Regards all, Martin.

A very good play on words Dougini, I like your sense of humour. You twisted my meaning about google myself, when I should have said that I had Googled Twinkle Twinkle as well. Having said that, I did actually Google myself some years ago, I must do it again to see how I have got on over the years. Yes Pete, I agree, I had heard that there was a DVD of the moves out and just wanted to check it out. As a junior section organiser I do always work on the youngsters to be themselves and put their own slant on things.
Thanks Martin, your help in person will be far better than a DVD but don't forget that I am looked upon the Tommy Cooper of card magic and the title might include sponge stars. I will explain just why I am looking at this item next week at the MCM. Thanks everyone all advice is gratefully accepted. Don-G |
