The open use of electronics with magic, does little to enhance the magic. As a matter a fact it detracts from the magic and tells the audience that trickery is involved. It destroys the previous display of the producing cards magically. I see no reason to put LEDs on a playing card, it does nothing for the effect of producing cards from the air. His showing of the hand before the 1st card production was more interesting then the light up cards.
I must say he has got me on this one, cards from nowhere. It is a good mystery and magic effect. |

I thought the light up cards went well, I think trickery every time I see a magician work,,LOL this guy really knows how to light up a room. it is an added extra touch for this day and age.

I’m ambivalent about the flashing cards. Just the two didn’t ring my chimes. I would have liked it more if the entire act was done in low light and all the cards were flashing. That would have been real eye candy!
His cards from nowhere was a good use of the black art principle. I’d like to see him build an act using the two. I suspect that it would be very upbeat and contemporary.
The artist formally known as Mumblepeas!

It's like that japanese guy doing iPad Magic - Pure awesome! Plus, the audiences do know that there is trickery involved in what we do - Some say "this is witchcraft!" but they still know there is something there. And luckily the majority of those just don't care. They like to be entertained, and whatever we can use to add something extra is worth, IMO, even though it might not fit everyone's taste. 2c |
