Hey guys, I am looking for big mirrors like the ones in the gym. Do you guys know where I can get them and how much they cost?

Don't know about your gym and the mirrors that may be there.
If you want mirrors go to a glass and mirror shop and tell them your needs. Also look in the telephone book for Plexiglas shops, they make a mirror on plexiglas, if you are considering moving it around. It would help to know what you intend to do with the mirror and the size you are looking for, as I really do not have the time to travel to Canada and visit your gym. |

Big mirrors are pricey. You will need to go to a glass shop as suggested above. You'll pay more for framing than just glass so it depends on your needs. You may also try a local Walmart or Target and just get some door mirrors and put several together. Sure, you'll have seams in between, but it'll be cheap!

Hey guys, thanks for the reply. I want the mirrors to set up a practice room so I can work on my craft.

Mirrors are very expensive, the Chavez Course suggest you get a mirror 25" X 4' (I don't have the course out, so I am only guessing.), if I remember correctly, then lean it up against the wall at an angle, it was very heavy. I found this not wide enough, so maybe a 3' or wider is better. This was a very long time ago, I called the local mirror company and they would grind down the edges, it was tempered mirror so it would not break easily and did not need a frame. It was like $25.00 back in the 1970's, believe me that was a lot of money back then.
I don't know if you want to spend hundreds of dollars, but a cheaper idea was suggested above. Get 2 those long thin dressing mirrors and take the frame off one side, then connect the frames together and place a piece of cardboard on the back to connect the mirrors together. The reason you lean the mirror against the wall is because if you are on stage that is the angle the audience will be viewing you from. |

Hey, that's a neat idea, wmhegbli, about leaning the mirrors. I hadn't thought of that yet. Thanks!

I 2nd the craigslist suggestion. Or contact handymen in your area to keep you in mind when they replace someones mirrored doors. If one breaks they usually replace both with new set and throw away the rest. I've been focused lately on trifold style also called 3 way mirrors. I have one dresser size but would like to get something larger. Larger than this link shows but you get the idea.
