All:
I am Looking for information on a source for a specific back issue of MUM, SAM's magazine. It was an issue from (I believe) 2002. Perhaps October. The cover image was of the US Postage stamp of Houdini. Most of the articles in the issue related in one way or another to the subject of Playing Cards. I had thought the issue was from 2000 or 2001, but I have found that the Houdini stamp was issued in 2002, in conjunction with an anniversary (100th?) of SAM's founding. I am looking for the issue because I wrote one of the articles, about collecting unusual playing cards. I was sent a complimentary copy of the issue, but I have misplaced it. If anyone can tell me the Year/month (and issue#) of the issue, I would greatly appreciate it. A scan of the cover and/or article would be better. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, -Robert S. Lancaster |

Greetings, if you contact the National Administrator, Manon Rodriguez she will be able to help you with acquiring a copy of the issue. You can email her at manon@magic.bz and she is wonderful about responding.

Thanks, Merlina, I will do that!
Your name brought me a smile. I play mandolins, and my favorite is a beautiful Ibanez mandolin I bought many years ago! Thanks again, Robert |

Hi Robert
Manon will be able to help. I think it'll cost $5 plus postage. The gifts and insignia have a CD of the past year's MUM for sale. Older issues/volumes will be released soon. Mark Weidhaas SAM National President |

Thanks, weidhaas. Manon is looking for the issue in question, but I might have to join tyhe S.A.M. to be able to purchase a copy. A CD with the issue would be great! Sorry, what is "the gifts and insignia"?
Thanks, Robert S. Lancaster |

Yes - you need to be a member to get back issues of MUM. Gifts and Insignia are where you can buy SAM pins, shirts, cards, etc. - you need to be a member to go there, too.

Manon is terrific! I contacted her about a particular back issue of M.U.M. and she got right on it. She quickly let me know that she had enlisted The Dean to help locate it the issue in question and in no time at all he sent me the correct information I needed.
So, I'll take this opportunity to publicly thank Manon and George for their kind efforts. Thank you both! You are fabtastic! Regan

RSLancastr- why not just join the SAM to support the SAM?

Denisb, if I had the budget to do so, I would gladly join. To support the SAM, to have permission to post the article, and for the knowledge I would glean from MUM! Perhaps after Christmas.
