I was looking back at Art of Astonishment VOl 1 by Paul Harris
I saw an amazing routine that is just a magician Breaker. I think then name of the routine is "Think of a card". Spectator takes 4-5 cards, thinks of one of the cards in there. Puts all the cards in the pack, and you reveal the card that the spectator thought of. Have you guys seen this? Performed this? Like This? I love it!! Paul.W From Israel |

If it plays the way you say then I'm sure you get some killer reactions. I currently perform 'vernon poker deal revisited' from sal placentes DVD which sounds simerler however the spectator removes 5 cards from a shuffled deck then thinks of the highest card.

Yes. I used to do this one many years ago.
If you want a challenge, try Ray Kosby's version of the effect - it's the next effect in the same book. Cheers. |

I am familiar but never ended up using it (though I don't know why). I attended a Josh Jay lecture some time ago and his control (demonstrated and explained) is very similar to the move needed to accomplish Paul's routine. In short, it made me start thinking about that routine again.
It is very clever and should appear quite "clean". In effect, my routine "Fields of Vision" routine has some similarities, but there is a notable difference. In the Harris routine you upjog a card, then the participant names their card and you apparently show that the upjogged card in the thought-of card. Thus, it is more a prediction effect than mind reading (I hope that distinction is clear). I don't mean that as a negative, I am just being clear. Once the move is mastered, the effect should be a snap though. I hope that helps. Sean |

Onesickknave: Yes, reactions are amazing. the spectator can shuffle the cards and can handle the deck until they put the 4-7 cards back in the deck
J.Warrens: How amazing is this? Yes Ray Kosbys extra version is very very neat Waters: Could you PM about Fields of Vision. I am very intressted.. |

Alel,
Thanks for the comment. Yeah, Josh's displacement is quite nice. You may be right about the prediction comment. Since a card is chosen thought-of first, before the card is isolated, I can concede that. Regards, Sean |
